SUMMARY

JMI Sports is seeking a talented and driven candidate to join the team delivering multimedia rights representation and sales to the University of Pittsburgh. The Specialist is an integral part of the property sales team and responsible for driving sponsorship dollars at the property and meeting their own sales goal, while also sharing in the management of sponsor fulfillment and activation for the property. The successful candidate is extremely organized, highly motivated, creative, interested in and capable of selling effectively and independently, and very comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This person will work closely with Athletic Department staff as part of a “do what it takes” commitment to the client, the sale, and the delivery of the partnership. We strive to exceed expectations in everyday operations and contractual fulfillments. This full-time position will be located in Pittsburgh, PA and requires occasional regional travel. This is an in-person position and is not open to remote work nor work-from-home options. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieving annual revenue goals by successfully executing renewals and driving upsells to cover for annual attrition
  • Conceptualizing and developing compelling sponsorship packages to maximize exposure and results for sponsors
  • Collaborating with property and Athletic Department team members to ideate, develop, and pitch strategic marketing platforms for new sponsor prospects
  • Developing professional relationships with sponsors and affiliated agencies through consultative sales strategies, objective-based programming and elevated white glove service
  • Implementing best practices to drive effective and competitive sales and fulfillment strategies
  • Collaborating with company leadership and property partners on unique strategies to increase revenues
  • Securing and conducting face-to-face sales meetings by leveraging relationships and cold calling
  • Negotiating and closing sponsorship deals and working with legal counsel through contract execution
  • Creating and presenting professional activation execution plans to drive and manage deadlines to ensure delivery of all promised benefits
  • Executing the coordination of fulfillment elements with Athletic Department staff and third party vendors
  • Developing year-end recap decks and renewal/upsell presentations
  • Managing CRM management and system hygiene, including maintaining detailed records of sales activity and sponsor communication
  • Coordinating and implementing hospitality events and initiatives
  • Collaborating with company and property leadership on strategies to increase productivity, revenue generation, execution and results
  • Contributing innovative and impactful thoughts or actions to boost revenues for Company
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in sports marketing and/or sales, or a related field
  • Interest in, and working understanding of, college athletics
  • Experience in event management and sponsor activation
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDFs; Photoshop and/or KORE CRM experience a plus
  • Thorough research and analytical skills including the ability to synthesize findings into actionable plans
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strength in time management and effective multi-tasking
