BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Nebraska based employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid options, and 100% remote.

Accountable for the maintenance, growth and increased profitability of existing business, the acquisition of new business on existing accounts, customer satisfaction and the strategic direction of assigned accounts in the small group market (1-150). This position manages the relationship with the broker with demonstrated leadership.

What you’ll do:

  • Build knowledge of our clients business to strategically develop or enhance their benefit strategy.
  • Communication of new products and/or services to customers, brokers & consultants.
  • Coordinate and influence superior customer service delivery developing and maintaining strong inter-company relationships.
  • Deliver strategic, customer specific initiatives, which deliver "value added" services.
  • Demonstrate marketing and technical expertise through: Client, broker and consultant meetings.
  • Develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels.
  • Establish and maintain "strong and appropriate" relationships with customers and consultants.
  • Maintain a high level of healthcare industry knowledge as well as customer's industry.
  • Overall management and coordination of new business and renewal implementation.
  • Overall management of a book of business
  • Preparation for, and participation in, finalist presentations and new business site visits.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends as represented by our clients.
  • Sell and maintain ancillary lines of business.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years experience in sales, customer service or account management.
  • Current State of Nebraska Department of Insurance License (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date).
  • Prior experience in the health industry
  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.
