Overview:
The Access Attendant under the supervision of Director and Coordinator of Volunteer Services, is responsible for providing for greeting and screening patients, visitors, vendors and colleagues according to our updated visitation and screening policies in a manner that reflects our NAH Values. S/he must follow all policies/procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare and proactively follow huddle and department communications and updates. S/he performs other duties, as assigned or directed, that are within the scope and abilities of the individual's training. The Access Attendant may interact with patients and/or families, visitors, vendors and colleagues, which may include children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Responsibilities:
Access Attendant
  • Screening and greeting people arriving at our entry doors, and directing them as appropriate according to our current policies.
  • Providing accurate instructions and directions and escorting as appropriate per policies within our facility.
  • Receiving flowers, patient belongings and other deliveries at the door, referring to our policies for appropriate next steps. Ensuring belongings are delivered to rooms in a timely manner.
  • Referring visitor issues to Customer Clerk Associate, Coordinator or Director for de-escalation and resolving issues, working toward resolution for all our customers.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Logging adult patient visitors, providing all visitors with badge according to policies.
  • Communicating with Coordinator, Director, Spiritual Care team and Screeners at facility daily through TEAMS in order to best serve our “customers.”
  • Appropriate outreach for support from Security and other departments per team policies.
Compliance/Safety
  • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
  • Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
  • If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
  • Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma or GED- Required
Experience
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and to engage with all customers in courteous and respectful manner- Required

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs. Ability to add and effectively utilize Teams application on personal phone is preferred; required for team leadership role.
