General Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for maintenance of all floors on the University campus, and the maintaining of all floor equipment. In addition must be knowledgeable in all floors restoration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floor surfaces. Strip, rinse, seal and finish all hard floor surfaces. Mop floors daily in all the assigned areas. Clean all carpets using the appropriate floor machine. Sweep all stairwells and landings and complete all daily tasks assigned by the shift supervisor. Safely operate propane buffer for Vinyl Composite tile and terrazzo floors. Report any maintenance problems to the Shift Supervisor. Maintain and clean all floor equipment reporting mechanical problems to the Shift Supervisor for proper repairs. Maintain floor maintenance worker closet in a neat and orderly fashion. Position will likely require work on weekends as the need arises. Assist and perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to, snow removal and storm damage recovery.
