POSITION TITLE: Youth Care Worker

POSITION DESCRIPTION: To assist with the day-to-day care and supervision of the residents of the group home. The Youth Care Worker reports directly to the House Manager.

PRINICPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITLES:

Conduct intake and discharges of youth admissions

Supervise youth ensuring a safe environment

Maintain group home in clean, safe, organized home

Monitoring and documenting youth behaviors, activities

Interacting in a warm, compassionate manner

Establish rapport with youth and agency staff

Helps to teach youth social skills and daily living skills

Helps with independent living skills including cooking, budgeting, laundry, etc.

Assist youth with homework and educational goals

Document activities and complete reporting as required

Promoting youth achievement of treatment plan goals

Working with families and outside agencies

Assisting clients with needs and goals

Complete ongoing training as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years of age

Pass a background check

Possess a High Diploma or equivalent

2 years’ experience working with youth

First Aid and CPR Certification required prior to working any shifts

Valid Florida Driver’s License with safe driving record

Drug Free Work environment

PREFERRED:

Previous experience working with abused, neglected, and special needs youth

Training in crisis prevention/intervention training, trauma-informed care, and Human Trafficking

SKILLS:

Ability to work with youth

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Ability to work effectively with co-workers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

NEEDED: Sitting, Standing, Walking

PREFERRED: Repetitive Motions Lifting, Carrying, Kneeling, Pushing/Pulling, Bending/Stooping, Reach

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends only

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ormond Beach, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
