WORSHIP DIRECTOR

Job Summary: The Director will provide leadership, vision, and passion in the area of music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision and mission of Pine Island United
Methodist Church (here-after PIUMC).

Qualifications

• Commitment to PIUMC’s doctrine, vision, values, and beliefs
• Commitment to team approach to ministry
• Relational style of leadership and ministry
• Joyful spirit and good sense of humor
• Proficiency to lead worship both vocally and/or with accompaniment
• Mature Christian, or have a vital, growing and personal faith relationship with Christ
• Must undergo and pass personal background screening process, including a drug test

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the pastor to create well-planned and engaging Sunday worship services. This includes leading the Sunday Worship and overseeing the worship team

(vocalists and instrumentalists).

• Plan, schedule, prepare, and lead rehearsals with worship team, working closely with the Technical Director and consulting with the Pastor to coordinate the music for the

Sunday service (and other services, as necessary (i.e., Ash Wednesday, MaundyThursday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve)).

• Contact each individual involved with worship services, communicating date/time of rehearsals/run-throughs
• Coordinate musicians as necessary
• Actively participate as Worship Committee team member in assessing worship services and needs of the congregation in worship, and to brainstorm new ideas; attend Worship

Committee meetings

• Develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church

Other Responsibilities

• Take the lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities which align with the mission and vision of PIUMC
• Communicate and work with the pastor and staff to stay informed regarding any pertinent situations that arise regarding the worship ministry

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift objects up to thirty (30) pounds
• Ability to carry equipment over short distances, or load and push/pull a moving cart to transport equipment

Reports to:

• Lead Pastor (with assistance of Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) as needed)
• Performance review scheduled annually

EMPLOYMENT PLAN

Salary: Dependent on experience, qualifications, and education

Part-time

Range: $13,000 – $15,000 per year
