Responsibilities:
- Pay attention to detail and follow instructions from the manager/supervisor
- Push the patient in a wheelchair on to transport vehicle
- Bend, kneel, walk, and sit for a period of time
- Pick up and drop off clients and students at designated home addresses, drop-off at designated appointments and school addresses
- Must be hands-on with clients/students getting into and out of the van to ensure their safety
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections and report any maintenance or repair issues promptly
- May require maintaining and adding fluid to vehicles as needed to ensure safe working order
- Fuel, sweep & clean vehicle daily
- Assist clients and students with boarding and exiting the van in a safe manner
- Engage with clients and students in a friendly and courteous manner
- Driver license with school V endorsement
- Clean driving record with no recent accidents or traffic citations
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to follow GPS directions
- Ability to stand, bend, sit, and push wheelchair passengers into and out of the van
