PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the Registered Dietitian to perform assigned duties in an efficient, cost-effective manner in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Chronic Care Management Department. The role of the registered dietitian is to provide proactive and ongoing support to our enrollees and their families in order to optimize self-management strategies. Registered dietitians will utilize the technology within the information management system to identify enrollees appropriate for contact. The registered dietitian will encourage enrollees/family members to maintain health, manage disease and disease impacts, and sustain independence. Some responsibilities may be shared with other personnel. The registered dietitian must provide efficient quality service at all times. The Registered Dietitian will accomplish this goal by using evidence-based standards of care to educate, motivate and empower enrollees to make healthy lifestyle choices.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

• Anticipate and follow through with both internal and external customer requests to their satisfaction. Seek assistance of others and other departments when needed.
• Utilize motivational interviewing strategies to discuss goal setting and action planning with customers.
• Provide proactive, ongoing collaboration with enrollees and families along evidence-based guidelines to support them in maintaining health or managing disease and disease impacts through self-management strategies.
• Portrays professional image: follows dress code; communicates with internal and external customers in a professional manner, including appropriate verbal and written grammar
• Demonstrate ability to set goals and develop action plans while motivating and inspiring enrollee/family to make change.
• Reviews and makes pertinent recommendations to food records of members.
• Facilitates dynamic group class lectures on nutrition topics utilizing multimedia such as power point, videos, visual demonstrations, and written handouts. To include Education 4 U, A Better U and onsite Lunch n Learns.
• Regularly reviews client progress and identifies potential barriers to success in the field of weight management.
• Positively motivates client toward weight loss goals by reviewing and encouraging known keys to success both telephonically or onsite at employer group as component of AultCare Wellness program.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve services and materials with little or no direct supervision.
• Maintain superior quality in all job functions, contributing to the successful attainment of departmental/organizational quality goals.
• Promote evidence-based standards to positively impact quality of care by educatingenrollees/family members and empowering them to collaborate with providers for optimal outcomes.
• Process Improvement: Continuously reviews, recommends and implements improvement steps, as needed or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nutrition; current unrestricted licensure; experienced in administering consumer programs and conducting individual and group nutrition education.
• Skilled at Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
• Experience in conducting nutrition assessments, teaching group nutritional classes, encouraging consumption of healthy foods via manager approved food demonstrations, compiling Chronic Care Management Booklets, speaking engagements for various groups, developing educational materials, reviewing client progress toward weight loss goals, and communicating with the client’s physician/providers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Hours of operation, shifts as assigned. Occasional overtime, on-call, off-shifts (evenings and/or weekends) scheduled as necessary.

• Frequent sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, and long periods working at a computer.
