Our client is looking for a Shop Supervisor to manage the safe and efficient use of all available resources to ensure a quality product is produced and delivered according to schedule in the most cost-effective manner. The right person will coordinate all production activities and ensure day to day plant operations support the business strategies and goals of the company. Your leadership skills will also come in handy while managing a sizeable team!

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of welding experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience as Shop Supervisor (or Foreman)

Responsibilities:

  • Safety – Lead employees in the safe operation of all equipment. Instill a culture of zero accidents each day. Document and investigate incidents to continuously improve our safety performance and our safety culture.
  • Quality – Focus on quality issues and errors and take the lead in eliminating root causes.
  • Production Planning – ability to plan the day for the department based on reasonable estimates of the amount of labor in each lot of work.
  • Training & Development – Cross-train and re-train employees for their day-to-day tasks.
  • Communication –
  • Conduct weekly crew meetings that focus on safety, quality, production planning, and company policies and culture.
  • Daily toolbox talks with employees concerning a safety topic
  • Regular communication with other supervisors including:
  • Production status – welding & fitting status
  • Lots of work available for fabrication / expected completion of lots.
  • Availability of manpower
  • Active Management –
  • Being proactive
  • Giving daily assignments with expectations and following up on those assignments. Provide feedback/coaching to meet safety, quality, and production requirements.
  • Re-deploying manpower based on the production plan, available manpower, and the flow of work.
  • Evaluation and discipline of employees

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
