Community College of Philadelphia is an open-admission, associate-degree-granting institution which provides access to higher education for all who may benefit. To help address broad economic, cultural and political concerns in the city and beyond, the College draws together students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds and seeks to provide the programs and support they need to achieve their goals.

The Welding Pathway Program Specialist is responsible for providing day to day implementation of Community College of Philadelphia’s (CCP’s) grant funded Welding Pathway Program (WPP). The WPP is a pipeline program connecting Career and Technical Education (CTE) students to post-secondary manufacturing and specifically welding skill-based training and work-based learning experiences, preparing them for direct employment upon high school graduation in partnership with the US Navy’s Pennsylvania Workforce Pipeline Pilot, and encouraging them to consider CCP as a next step beyond high school. The Specialist will help monitor the progress of students, and work with school and College administrators to ensure the delivery of education, training and other aspects of the program design, and make suggestions for improvement or modifications. The Specialist will work with the College’s Dual Enrollment staff to identify students from the program who would be well suited for credit offerings, and work with the WEI Team to identify students who will continue their manufacturing training at the College upon completion of the WPP program. Finally, the WPP Specialist will work with other team members in the Corporate Solutions Unit to ensure successful implementation and evaluation of the WPP program’s goals and objectives. The WPP Specialist will maintain and collect all data and documentation necessary to prepare reports for the initiative.
