Langhorne Carpet Company is seeking reliable individuals to join our manufacturing team. Langhorne is the longest continuously operated Wilton carpet mill in the United States. Our world-renowned carpets are woven from wool and other natural fibers on antique looms in our original red brick mill in Penndel, Bucks County, PA.

The manufacturing process involves a series of steps, including winding wool onto bobbins, placing the bobbins on the looms, preparing the looms to weave, operating the looms to weave the carpet, finishing the carpet to remove imperfections, implementing quality control measures, and preparing the carpet for shipment. Each position is critical to the overall functionality of our manufacturing process. The results of our teamwork are truly beautiful artisan furnishings that grace renowned landmarks and residences around the world.

WEAVER’S ASSISTANT:

Full job description:

Once the yarn is wound onto bobbins, the weaver’s assistant must assist with placing the bobbins on the creel section of the loom, pull it through the reed section and heddles of the loom, and place the cards into the Jacquard mechanism. From time to time, the weavers’ assistant must help replace the beams holding the stuffer and chain yarns. During the weaving process, the weaver may need the help of the weaver’s assistant to make adjustments to the loom. The position may also involve general tasks around the mill floor.

Qualifications

Mechanical experience is preferred, but not required. New hires will be trained.

Hours and Compensation:

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday. 7:30 to 4:00 w ½ hour lunch

Overtime available.

Starting Hourly wage rate: $18.00.

Benefits: Paid holidays, vacation, and health care.
