Weston Solutions is looking for a Water Resource Senior/Project Scientist in Southern California. This individual will use their knowledge and experience of watershed planning and assessment to conduct analysis of water quality regulations, prepare complex reports, develop workplans and offer innovative ideas and solutions to clients. The position offers opportunities to grow in a company seeking to expand our environmental services in Southern California and nationally.

Job responsibilities require strong technical, analytical, and communication skills that include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of detailed reports, workplans, and other technical documents.
  • Processing, management, QA/QC, analysis, and presentation of data.
  • Coordination of project teams and tasks including project communications, presentations, and research.
  • Coordination with Project Managers to complete tasks safely, on schedule, and within established budgets.
  • Occasional field work or travel may be required depending on project requirements.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, engineering, hydrology or a related field with 12 years minimum experience.
  • Knowledge of Southern California municipal stormwater permits, total maximum daily loads, basin plans, regional boards, and jurisdictional stormwater programs.
  • Seven or more years’ experience related to surface water, water resources, natural resources, and/or environmental chemistry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in teams, as well as independently.
  • Flexible and responsive to shifting priorities and project demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills and apply knowledge.


Other Qualifications of Interest but not required

  • Master’s Degree in environmental science, hydrology or a related field.
  • Experience with ArcGIS or modeling software.
  • Experience with statistical programs such as R or SAS.
  • An understanding of aquatic chemistry, pollutant fate and transport, and best management practices.
