Supervise the operation of a chemical warehouse. This includes receiving, processing, shipping, organizing and distribution. In addition, preparing and maintaining detailed records and files, including Bills of Lading, Packing Manifests, and SDS. This role will supervise 3 or more warehouse specialist and 5 material expediters. The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the 3PL Project Manager. The Warehouse Supervisor shall ensure proper storage of all chemicals and maintain accurate tracking records both within the WMS system and the government's system of record (EESOH-MIS). The Warehouse Supervisor is a Management personnel and shall be present at certain meeting with the government and vendors to ensure customer service.

  • Manage, oversee, supervise, and participate in warehouse operations.
  • Approve requisitions, analyzes work orders, etc.
  • Operate forklift and maintain proper forklift inspection records and maintenance.
  • Brief staff on materials to be loaded or on assembly of items to be delivered.
  • Check with staff for changes that could affect delivery schedule; make schedule adjustments as needed.
  • Manage Receiving process to ensure p bin storage.
  • Check documents for compliance with DOT Regulations and prepare additional documentation when necessary.
  • Work with Buyers on all requests for replenishment of stock.
  • Manage monthly inventory for and participate in inventory reconciliation program.
  • Oversee the receipt and dispersal of materials entering or leaving warehouse; help Warehouse Operators with this task when required.
  • Develop Bill of Lading and Packing Manifest for each delivery.
  • Determine correct Placarding for each delivery.
  • Create inventory.
  • Actively participate in safety activities and conduct safety activities for all employees.
  • Perform related tasks as required.
  • Oversee proper storage of material in appropriate bins and utilize warehouse space efficiently.
  • Completing reports and data entry which may require computer programs such as MAS, Word, Microsoft Office programs.
  • Manage Warehouse Operations and develop work schedules for the Warehouse team.
  • Manage the daily orders and cohesively coordinate with site manager and his/her staff to meet the on time delivery schedule to the customer.
  • Oversee that Warehouse meets all Valiant and Government safety requirements on a daily basis and enforce the safety guidelines with the staff on a daily basis.
  • Ability to segregate chemicals and work with packaged chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Oversee that empty totes and pallets are returned to the warehouse.
  • Work with suppliers so that empty totes are picked up in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe warehouse environment and conduct training on proper cleanup/spill procedures.
  • General knowledge of modern warehouse and inventory practices
  • Thorough knowledge of materials and chemicals required.
  • General knowledge of the applicable standard grades and qualities of supplies.
  • Detail oriented, self-starter.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift which may include weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to be on call 24 hours when necessary.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with associates, suppliers, & VTS personnel
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.

Position Requirements

Requirements

  • Degree preferred, or high school graduate supplemented with college courses in inventory control logistics and outgoing shipments.
  • 5 years Warehouse Manager experience preferred
  • Fork Lift Certified
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Ability to comprehend and ensure all GHS and DOT requirements are met on outgoing shipments.
  • CDL may be required.
  • HAZMAT/DOT certified training
  • HAZMAT/DOT certified training
  • HAZWOPR training
