Job description
Under the direction of the Stores, Warehouse & Material (SWM) Manager, Sr. Lead Storekeeper, or Lead Storekeeper provides business and support services to the Facilities Division (800+ employees) and other Administration departments. Major duties include warehouse and receiving of supplies and materiel; material handling, inventory management, and special projects.

Required/Preferred

1. General mechanical aptitude and/or knowledge as it relates to MRO parts and supplies.

2. Skill in the operation of an automobile, fork lift, pallet jack, small hand tools, calculator, typewriter, telephone and computer. Also, knowledge of telephone etiquette, voice mail systems and manual dexterity.

3. Ability to lift fifty (50) lbs. and proficiently guide and maneuver material/loads around the warehouse, off elevators, trucks and loading docks including use of various material handling equipment for heavier material/loads.

4. Working knowledge of appropriate material staging, stocking and palletizing practices and principles.

5. Mathematical skills to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide, whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; also need to perform operations involving weight, measures, and percentages.

6. Strong Customer Service skills, including ability to provide information and refer calls using independent judgment.

7. Interpersonal skills to effectively gather and communicate information in a detailed and concise manner. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with requesters, vendors, Administration and University staff.

8. Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks, exercise discretion in prioritizing and responding to requests and/or tasks while working independently and following through with minimal direction in a non-smoking environment.

9. Ability to work efficiently when faced with changing deadlines and frequent interruptions or distractions in a high volume, high visibility department with minimum direction is required.

10. Working knowledge of receiving/inventory control practices and principles as they relate to accounts payable and purchasing of MRO parts and supplies.

11. Knowledge of and ability to work with bar coding systems (hardware and software).

12. Working knowledge of multi-shift storeroom operations including establishment and consolidation of satellite storage areas, categorization of parts and computerization of this information.

13. Knowledge of and ability to work with Windows based e-mail, Excel spreadsheet, Access database, Word for Windows word processing, on-line computer data input (PAC System).

14. Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (MAXIMO).
