Warehouse Operative – Central Warehouse and Distribution Centre (CWD)

Eastbourne

Salary – full time salary £19,685 per annum, plus pension and benefits

We have several great opportunities at our Central Warehouse and Distribution Centre in Eastbourne for reliable and motivated Warehouse Operatives. We have several shifts available including days (9.00 am – 5.30pm), lates (1pm – 9.30 pm) and weekends (8.00am – 4.30pm). The salary for weekend roles will be on a pro-rata basis.

You will be responsible for the safe storage, picking, packing and dispatch of a wide range of products, goods and samples held in CWD in Eastbourne.

Based on Maple Road off Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne, our CWD Centre has been supporting the operation of our online business for almost 20 years. With access to over 11,000 different wallcoverings as well as designer paints, we can offer our customers an extremely varied choice of decorating materials all from our Central Warehouse and it’s thanks to our highly efficient and dedicated team that we are able to offer the highest levels of service in doing this.

As a Warehouse Operative, key responsibilities will include:

  • Adhering to booking in and booking out procedures on our inhouse stock system (K8) with a high degree of accuracy
  • Controlling all associated supplier, internal and shipping documentation
  • Dealing with stock rotation and batch control
  • Accurately picking and pack customers' orders including samples for delivery
  • Ensuring urgent and sold orders are prioritised and all other orders are handled by priority and in chronological order
  • QC checks of documentation and goods processed, to ensure accuracy
  • Use of Manual Handling Equipment where trained and authorised to do so to support movement of goods
  • Accurate stock counting for perpetual inventory and annual stock take
  • Following all safety standards and reporting any breaches of those standards and raising any concerns
  • Ensuring all company processes and policies are followed
  • Maintaining the warehouse to agreed standards
  • Un-loading and loading goods from delivery vehicles ensuring as needed.

  • The ability to multi task
  • An approachable, open and friendly personality
  • Confident with the use of computers with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen to learn develop skills, and progress within our industry
  • Previous warehouse experience and a valid driving licence is an advantage but not essential

This is not a sedentary role, there is a requirement to be able to lift stock for costumer orders, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, tinting paint and replenishing shelves in the shop and stock racks and will include reaching for stock that may include use of ladders and step ups and periods of standing.
