The warehouse manager plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received into the warehouse, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation to ensure products are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed; supervises staff.

Warehouse Manager Job Duties:

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating,
  • and enforcing operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ensures safety of warehouse operations and contents by monitoring safety procedures and
  • protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciles with data storage
  • system.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees;
  • following up on work results.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of
  • warehouse and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate equipment to
  • move product; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.
  • Monitors the unloading of all items into the warehouse; ensures items are staged for picking
  • and counting; ensures receiving reports accurately report items received. Resolves
  • discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, etc.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Warehouse Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to control and manage inventory
  • Ability to manage and motivate 10 or more warehouse employees across multiple shifts
  • Ability to supervise warehouse employees and oversee daily operations
  • Must inspect condition of tools and equipment
  • Enforces all company rules and regulations
  • Must have a high degree of detail and focus on every job
  • Ability to communicate with drivers and management to ensure efficient delivery of
    products.

Required Education and Experience:

  • College degree preferred / High school diploma/GED required
  • 5+ years’ experience in a warehouse supervisory role
  • Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Six Sigma green belt preferred
  • Able to work with all levels of staff

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be willing to work extended hours that may vary on a daily basis and communicate with branch manager regarding time off requirements when necessary.

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
