The position will assist support the management of a Warehouse that distributes perishables.

The Night Shift Assistant Manager is responsible for implementing workflow procedures based on direction from the Night Shift Manager. Their duties include supervising employees during day-to-day tasks, providing customer support in escalated situations, and managing the overall workflow of the warehouse. T

he Night Shift Assistant Manager is responsible to help with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and monitoring the productivity of night shift staff. Their duties include assisting the Night shift manager with the supervision and logistics of the Warehouse. This person often works in a busy environment where priorities can change at a moment’s notice, so an ability to multitask and delegate is essential to this role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The team includes 14-16 Hourly Warehouse Team Members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in assigning workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Associates

• Communicating with customers to answer shipping and receiving questions and troubleshoot problems

• Monitoring inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy • Ensuring inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained

• Monitoring Warehouse Associates to ensure safety procedures are being followed when operating forklifts and other machinery

• Backing up night shift transportation assistant with routing and dispatching orders.

• Follow a Safety-First program and make sure all employees follow the same safety culture

• Make sure all good manufacturing processes, Food Safety Policies, and Company’s Standard Operating Procedures are followed

• Make sure all orders are picked according to the customer’s standards, labeled, checked for quality, and verifies for quantity, before shipping

• All delivery trucks must be filled according to the FIFO system and loaded in order to facilitate the delivery process

• All orders must have their shorts accounted for, subbed, when possible, bought in the market if available, and filled before the trucks leave on a first run delivery

• Make sure all employees take their break and that they clock in and out

• Follow all Purchasing and Receiving procedures in order to fulfill all pending orders

• Able to do repacks, splits, substitutions, and manage all inventory

• Aware of inventory availability, rotation, condition, etc. in order to fulfill all orders during his shift

• Able to complete the shipping of orders and the dispatching of drivers

• Warehouse must be kept clean, organized

• Familiar and trained in HAACP and Food Safety

• Fill in for Night Shift Manager (WM) in times of absence.

• Help create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Must be able to multitask

. • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish

• Computer proficient, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Produce Pro, and Routing Software

• Able to operate a pallet jack and or forklift

• Logistics and transportation proficiency

• Inventory control, rotation experience a must

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3+ years relevant experience in produce or other related distribution perishable goods service. Knowledge of produce perishability, and inventory management needed.

• Must have a valid Driver’s license & Insurance
