The Vice President, Video Promotion will be a member of the leadership team tasked with providing development of video promotional strategy for all Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment brands including Redbox, Crackle and Screen Media Ventures, and will assist with affiliate equipment needs promotional concepting and brand design.

This role oversees all video and interactive promotions and is involved in all aspects of our multi-platform marketing initiatives both digital and retail, partnering with all marketing functions to develop actionable short and long-term assets by working cross functionally, developing strategies that more efficiently/effectively utilize existing channel communications, and delivering campaigns that drive the digital/streaming and core physical business.

Key Responsibilities

Overall business strategy:

  • Beyond Marketing, the VP will be an influential member of the executive team impacting the direction of the total business venture
  • Represent the business to strategic internal and external partners
  • Provide strong, proactive leadership to maintain a positive business climate
  • Strengthen and maintain a can-do, goal-oriented, entrepreneurial environment that stresses performance, teamwork, credibility, and success

Specific Promotion objectives:

  • Build and oversee video promotional workflows, creation of network branding, promo producer team and assist in equipment purchases
  • Write, edit, produce video promotional spots
  • Provide video creative conceptualization, development, and execution services for all Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment brands including: Redbox, Crackle and Screen Media Ventures as needed
  • Design of social media video assets for multiple Redbox and Crackle platforms - Vizio, Samsung and Amazon
  • Prepare sizzle reels for concepts that will be taken to potential distribution partners or used in Upfronts
  • Work closely with Ad Sales on larger projects like Upfront presentations and sponsorships
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the business

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications arts, marketing, or a related field is required

  • 15+ years of experience with creative and production management is required

  • Prior experience presenting to the C-suite

  • Proven experience in leading teams (direct reports and/or other resources such as contractors or freelancers) while under tight deadlines is required

  • Multi-channel (digital/on-line and retail) experience

  • Worked in a start up before: easily and comfortable adjusting priorities/strategies as needed

  • Brings a background of managing agencies

  • Worked with similar industry clients to drive significant on-line awareness

  • Performance at a Senior Director/VP level for 3+ years while managing a staff of 5+

  • A marketing generalist who is comfortable dealing with all aspects of marketing
  • An analytical approach to driving customer acquisition
  • Strong financial, analytical, communication, and negotiating skills
  • Shown an ability and affinity to build a brand and keep it consistent, fun and engaging
  • Proven background of consistently increasing new and repeat customers
  • Experience using social media and other emerging tactics to generate revenue and transactions efficiently and cost effective is important
  • Loves the business model; is entrepreneurial
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility and build supportive relationships
  • Demonstrated leader of people: foster the company’s culture

New York pay range:

$153,000 - 240,000 usd per year

Pay is based on nondiscriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skill and location.
