The Role

The Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) is a senior executive responsible for leading the organization's efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the company and its operations. This role will develop and implement DEI strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with Ingersoll Rand’s values and goals, having a positive impact on our relationships with our customers, suppliers, employees, and communities. This effort will be closely aligned to the successful achievement of strategic priorities including customer driven innovation, employee engagement, change leadership, and margin expansion through productivity and pricing.


This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Communications and will have significant interaction with the CEO and Enterprise Leadership Team.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Developing and implementing DEI strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with the company's values and goals
  • Develop leadership commitment to global diversity and inclusion and creation of progressive work environment
  • Building relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including employees, customers, and suppliers, to promote a culture of inclusivity and equity
  • Collaborating with HR and other departments to ensure DEI principles are integrated into HR processes, such as recruitment, performance management, and compensation
  • Representing the company in public forums, industry groups, and professional organizations, and contributing to the broader DEI discourse
  • Responsible for developing and implementing specific diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives in coordination with Talent Management, Employee and Leadership Development, Communications, and Talent Acquisition
  • Building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance DEI initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion programs, training, and employee resource groups
  • Ensures HR practices and processes support the achievement of workforce diversity and compliance with the company diversity philosophy and principles
  • Develop and deploy a change management and communications strategy
  • Develops a measurement system to monitoring and reporting on the company's DEI progress, and recommending action plans, programs and approaches that are necessary to improve, modify, or enhance the Company’s global diversity and inclusion initiatives

Qualifications


  • 10+ years of Business, Human Resources or Project Leadership experience with proven success achieving metrics-driven progress
  • 6 years of experience directly related to leading a diversity function and developing and/or managing diversity programs and initiatives is strongly preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field. Graduate degree strongly preferred
  • Thought leader with deep subject matter expertise on global diversity and inclusion and creating progressive work environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead significant organizational transformation initiatives
  • Highly collaborative team player who builds and fosters global relationships
  • Have the ability to interact at all levels of the organization and represent internally and externally in the area of diversity and inclusion
  • Possess excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills and demonstrated executive presence
  • Ability to think strategically, “roll up the sleeves” and drive results
  • Strong business acumen, achievement orientation and demonstrated ability to deliver results
  • Effectively builds and leads teams
  • Deep global experience and exposure to multilingual and multicultural environments is critical
