Volunteer Program Manager

PAY RANGE: $65,500-$77,000

BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long term disability insurance and sick leave are available to employees. Employees accrue 116 hours of vacation during the first year and receive 11 paid holidays. (Prorated for part-time employees).

POSITION TYPE: Exempt

The Volunteer Programs Manager will be responsible for building relationships with community partners and potential stakeholders, as well as maintaining communications between volunteers, site staff, and resident leaders across the LIHI portfolio. This position includes supervision and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new systems for the program
  • Collaborate with LIHI leaders to develop volunteer, resident and client programs and services
  • Provide effective supervision and oversight of staff, volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and interns; including evaluation, recognition and accountability
  • Attend resident and client community meetings and events to keep residents and clients informed of current volunteer programs and to seek input on the development of new programs
  • Organize and oversee group projects and Tiny House Village volunteer work parties
  • Collaborate with grant writing and fund development staff on grant and funding proposals to further the capacity of volunteer and resident programs
  • Give presentations in front of community groups to share about the mission and programs of LIHI, with the goal to help recruit additional volunteers and donors
  • Participate in LIHI advocacy efforts, and where appropriate involve volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health or related field preferred
  • Experience supervising a team of 5-10 staff members or volunteers
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability and experience to organize events and volunteer work parties.
  • Ability to engage with diverse audiences and volunteers.
  • Must be well organized, ability to work independently and have good writing skills.
  • Familiarity with low income housing and homelessness issues desired.
  • Program management experience, including development of community programs
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and weekends
  • Grant writing experience preferred
  • Current WA state driver’s license and ability to travel between locations
  • Able to pass criminal background and drug screening test
