Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified candidate to be the Vice President of Finance responsible for providing financial management and coordination for a portfolio of small / mid sized government services businesses. The Vice President of Program Finance is accountable for all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Establishes key financial objectives or policies for the organization, ensuring compliance with the FAR and other applicable regulations. Supports the company’s sales and business development activities, including sales pipeline and bookings analysis and support. Drives continuous improvement in financial performance. Applies critical thinking to assist management in identifying risk and developing risk mitigation strategies. The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the CEO and will part of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance team in providing timely and accurate performance monitoring and forecasting of project-specific activities, tracking, monitoring, and analyzing project budgets, funding, expenditures, revenue, and profitability.
  • Support proposal preparations, including bid/no bid requirements, cost estimating, pricing, RFP review, risk mitigation, and negotiation.
  • Review all proposal and contract actions processed within the department prior to signature or negotiation to ensure that appropriate factors have been identified and that all necessary information has been gathered.
  • Ensure accurate project set-up, accurate and compliant revenue recognition methods, and timely and accurate billing.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in program control & reporting to include delivery of contract-level financial support and analysis (project accounting, project planning, EACs, etc.)
  • Compile and communicate monthly financial results to senior leadership team.
  • Manage Forward Pricing Rate planning process and development of supporting tools to monitor and analyze performance.
  • Support Procurement and Subcontract management processes and activities
  • Support company accounting processes and execution activities including month-end close, subcontractor accruals, client invoicing, vendor payments, and expense reports.
  • Support both internal, external and government cost accounting related audit requirements to include periodic financial audits, internal controls testing and interfacing with government auditors on compliance related activities.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators for monitoring program performance.
  • Perform profitability analysis.
  • Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the company’s systems and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • US Federal Government contractor experience desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, accounting, or related field. Master’s degree desired.
  • CPA or MPA desired.
  • 8+ years’ experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level of integrity, trust, and service.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and documentation with discretion.
  • Knowledge of trends and regulations pertaining to finance and operational analytics.
  • Ability to pull data from multiple sources, provide analysis, and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Excellent oral and written communications, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, and Vena is highly desired.
  • Business acumen to work with all levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated innovative and creative thinking.
  • Strong ability to coach and motivate. Possess enthusiasm and positive attitude.
  • Ability to be flexible and multitask.
  • Travel as needed.

Education:

Bachelor's degree - MBA or advanced degree is preferred

Location:

This position is based in our office location, but there is a possibility of remote work. Our offices are located in Herndon/Chantilly/Reston/Tysons.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $165,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
