What we are looking for

The AscellaHealth Family of Companies is looking for a Vice President of Finance to provide leadership and coordination of company finances, general accounting, and budget management functions. This person will ensure that company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position will require someone to have a current CPA. The VP of Finance position is a hybrid position and will require regular weekly office attendance in our Berwyn, PA office.

What the position will be doing

  • Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reports
  • Direct and coordinate line of business (LOB) financial planning and accounting management functions
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the company’s financial and operating performance
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
  • Manage and supervise all AR/AP cycles with external partners and customers - including the implementation of accounting and billing systems and controls
  • Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
  • Work with department managers to develop five-year business plans
  • Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
  • Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff
  • Coordinate with the management of the MIS department to ensure company objectives are met
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remaining flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 4-year equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, or related fields of study is required.
  • CPA required
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management
  • Four (4) years of experience in Public Accounting
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Demonstrated management/leadership of the accounting function and team
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
  • Experience in Healthcare or Pharma preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven. Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to ensure tasks are appropriately delegated and completed to standards by monitoring performance and holding staff accountable.
  • Ability to organize resources, personnel, and actions for the successful completion of programs and tasks.
  • Ability to provide direction and motivation and set an example through open communication and modeling best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications including advanced Excel skills, database and accounting computer applications
