The Bird and Exotic Hospital is an exotic animal exclusive practice located in Greenacres, FL. We have been offering above standard patient care, as well as a pleasant experience to all pet owners, whether they have a tiny hamster, a snake or a large macaw.

Job responsibilities:

• Patient triage and restraint for procedures and exams
• Venipuncture and catheter placement
• Laboratory sample collection and processing
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery.
• Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Pharmacy and medication administration
• Diagnostic imaging
• Educate pet owners on proper handling, nutrition, and general care for exotic animals.

Our requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician
• Previous exotic animal experience highly desirable.
• CVT credentials or currently in veterinary technician college is highly desirable.
• Must be available to work Monday through Saturday, up to 40 hours a week.
• Must be open to a flexible schedule
• Proficiency with Avimark is desirable
• Effective communication skills to educate and collaborate with pet owners and team members.
• Strong passion for working with exotic pets and a desire to expand knowledge in this specialized field.
• A good sense of humor and positive attitude
• A lack of fear of birds or snakes
