Van Driver PRN (called in as needed)
Job description
PRN - no scheduled hours
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Two years previous experience as transporter, chauffeur, or similar experience preferred.
Current CDL licensure is required. Must have Class B. Proof of insurance required annually. Vehicular background check performed annually must meet CHP policy in order to stay active as a driver. DOT testing required.
Ability to communicate with residents and staff regarding scheduling of transportation. Customer service skills.
Exposure to elements depending upon the weather conditions. May work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings per the schedule in activities or due to resident schedules.
Job duties Transports residents of the facility by van/bus or car. Coordinates and communicates transportation schedules and services to residents and staff. Offers assistance to residents /passengers entering/exiting the vehicle and provides protection in inclement weather. Adheres to all state and local driving laws. Maintains departmental records/reports. Prepares and maintains transportation logs, vehicle fuel consumption, and other data within specified time frame.
