Job Summary

In support of the NEW Water culture of Safety, Respect, Team, and Environment, the Utility Worker is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and landscaping activities on the buildings, grounds, and equipment throughout all of NEW Water’s wastewater treatment facilities and associated interceptor system pumping and metering stations. Responsible for mechanical repairs, confined space entry for cleaning, inspecting and repairs, lawn care, snow removal using a wide variety of motorized equipment, the use of a variety of power tools, cleaning and painting. This position provides support and assistance to other skilled trades and departments as needed.

Work is reviewed for quality, thoroughness, adherence to design concepts, installation efficiency, and timeliness by the Mechanical Team Leader and/or the Maintenance Manager, through observation of results and reports generated by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position is responsible for documenting the resolution of tasks in the CMMS and providing quality service to internal and external customers through the timely and accurate completion of utility maintenance work orders. This position is responsible for providing quality service to internal and external customers to ensure that NEW Water is fulfilling all regulatory and environmental compliance obligations.

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required: 2 years

Other Specific Experience Required or Preferred: Related maintenance experience in an industrial setting. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.

Work Environment / Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: As this position is included in the annual medical respiratory evaluation program, facial hair, beards, sideburns, etc., which extend into the facepiece-to-face fit area are not permitted. Mustaches or neatly trimmed goatees must be sufficiently short so as not to interfere with the overall function of the respirator.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.92 - $35.18 per hour
