Job description

Quanta Utility Engineering Services (QUES) is currently accepting applications for a full-time project engineer providing contract engineering resources to a local electric and gas utility in Butte, Montana.

Responsibilities:

• Field investigation and surveying
• Gas and Electric distribution system design
• Overhead electrical system troubleshooting and problem solving
• Construction coordination
• Labor and cost estimating
• Work flow processing and record keeping
• Interfacing with utility customers, electricians, and contractors
• Project Management
• Permitting and easement development

The position will be about 50% of the time in the office and 50% in the field. Employees must have reliable transportation and are expected to use their vehicle for work, but are reimbursed mileage at the current federal IRS rate. Candidates must also possess a valid driver’s license and a clean record.

This job may include overnight travel to project sites throughout Montana, but travel time and expenses are paid.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree in relevant field
• Construction or utility experience (preferred but not required)
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Adept at time management and organization
• Ability to deal with sometimes stressful situations and customer interactions
• Positive attitude

Any candidates with relative utility or construction experience will be strongly considered, but relative experience is not required. QUES will provide all training for the position
