PotlatchDeltic Mill in Ola, Arkansas has openings for Utility operators. This position is an entry level operator position and will also be responsible for cleanup around the mill site. We are seeking employees for both day and night positions in the sawmill and day shift in the planer mill.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $16.9950

Sawmill Utility:

• Keep boards straight manually or with pick by reaching over the lumber and dragging it into place.
• Operate a chain saw to remove hang-ups at the reman deck.
• Remove fallen cants from the floor chains - help with hang-ups at other areas of the mill as directed.
• Able to cross train - to be able to cover when operator is out.
• Clean up during down time using air wand, rake, or shovel.

Planer Utility:

• Stack 4' and 6' trim blocks onto carts.
• Print and tag bundles by length, thickness, width, and grade.
• Wrap Grade 4 bundles with lumber bags.
• Repair bundles that are missing boards as needed.
• Able to cross train - to be able to cover when operator is out.
• Clean up during down time using air wand, rake, or shovel.
• Physical work: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, lifting, repetitive motions; pushing and pulling.
• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions; subject to loud noise.

• Follow all applicable safety rules - Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to follow simple instructions.
• Work regularly scheduled shift.
• Work scheduled overtime.
