Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County seeks a classics and Latin teacher at its campus in Lone Tree, Colorado in the south Denver metro area. The candidate must have a strong background in the Latin language, having majored in classics, classical history, or a related discipline with substantial coursework in Latin. The ability to teach other subjects related to the classics (e.g., literature, history, Greek, or another foreign language) would be an advantage.

At Ascent Classical Academies, Latin is a required course in grades six through eight, and high-school students must take a full year of Latin to graduate. Often students will take Latin through the senior year.

Compensation Range and Particulars: $41,000 to $55,000 annually, highly dependent on experience and work load.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• For co-curricular subjects, at least 36 hours of higher education credit in the subject area of instruction (alternatively, a passing grade in a content exam)
• Eligibility to work in the United States
• After offer is accepted, satisfactory background check as required by state law and Colorado Dept. of Education
• Conviction in the values of a rigorous liberal arts education
• Loyalty to the school and ACA’s mission and vision
