Job Title: Underwriter

Location: Cadillac, MI
Job Summary:
Assist our Benefits Advisors who are licensed by the State of Michigan in preparing plan analysis to seek new clients and to retain existing clients.
Responsibilities:

Requesting and obtaining quotes for existing business and prospective clients

Use of spreadsheets to show benefit options for comparison and financial comparisons
-
Requesting, running, and comprehending utilization reporting for group renewals and maintenance
-
Establishing illustrative rating by use of utilization reporting
-
Prepare executive level summaries and proposals
-
Maintaining a full knowledge of carrier plans including benefits, rating differences, network limitations and eligibility requirements
-
Utilize market expertise and analytical skills to provide guidance and strategic direction to Producer/Account Executive Benchmarking plans by industry and employer size with national, regional, and state plans
-
Assist in preparation of plan impact due to national and state legislative activity
-
Use agency management systems proficiently to document communications and tasks performed

Requirements:

Michigan Life & Health Insurance licensed, or commitment to obtain within 12 months

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Exceptional math skills

Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, responsive and self-motivated

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

Ability to produce accurate work

Ability to learn new software programs

Education/Experience:

College degree or 2 years of experience in Employee Benefit Insurance
