As the Turf and Ornamental M&D Lead for North America, you will be focused on the development and management of the ICL Turf and Ornamental Horticulture new products, new markets, and new business, which includes, the development and execution of new category marketing plans, new business development, as well as product and project management. In this role you will report directly to the North America Business Lead and work closely with key internal and external stakeholders. This is a remote opportunity with 50% travel required.

  • Partner with management to develop strategic new business marketing plans for new categories, Fertilizer and Plant Protection portfolios.
  • Identify new unmet needs in the turf and Ornamental Market & Steer the R&D projects.
  • Market definition and Market Value
  • Develop new products/market combinations
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding product and portfolio projects, questions, and issues. (e.g., supply chain, customer service, finance, sales, R&D, regulatory, manufacturing, technical services, executive management).
  • Coordinate cross-functionally on project tasks and delegation of responsibilities for the Turf and Ornamental group.
  • Lead in setup of new products (standard offerings & custom blends) within ICL’s internal systems.
  • Manage the ideation and development of adjacent categories to strengthen the product portfolio.
  • Proactively prepare annual reviews and reports on products within the portfolio.
  • Travel to industry events and with the sales team to visit end users and gain first-hand knowledge of the market and how ICL’s products are used.
  • Gather market intelligence and research to analyze and report on market trends and competitor activity for key stakeholders including management.
  • Research and report on new growth opportunities for existing and new product offerings.
  • Collect relevant market information and lead the development of business case rationale for new products and/or new categories.
In the area of Product Evaluation:
  • Perform initial desk/literature studies regarding new product performance and suitability to the company portfolio as well as any new technologies and/or new usage of existing products for the professional development and training (PD&T) of the business unit.
  • Initiate and manage the evaluation and validation trails for the improvement of a new product or technology to pass the official scientific field development.
  • Assist with technical product analyses versus other brands and publish strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analyses on our products initiated by the PD&T.
In the area of Technical Data Management:
  • Co-develop and write technical framework for brochures and social media campaigns.
  • Develop and execute operational budget plans for product evaluation.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
  • BS/BA degree in Horticulture, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience within horticulture, agriculture, and/or a related industry with experience in Marketing, Sales, Business, and/or another relevant field.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and CRM systems required.
  • Proven success effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and projects in an entrepreneurial, fluid, and fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing the integration of complex, data-driven products to support market penetration.
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally and influence stakeholders within a diverse multi-cultural, corporate culture while continuing to maintain credibility and working relationships.
  • Capable of working independently while being able to openly share information with team members.
  • Proactive self-starter, hands-on, and results oriented individual.
  • Creative and agile with the ability to think divergently.
  • Ability to balance business and technical areas of opportunity while communicating appropriately with key subject matter experts.
  • Experienced in bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholder.
  • Motivated and high achiever with the potential to move into positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Proven project management skills.
