Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicle daily
- Transport mail, packages, boxes, and other company materials between local Post
Offices and company locations while operating the vehicle in a safe manner.
- Maintain scheduled services, mileage and trip logs, and vehicle service logs.
- Ensure prompt handling of time sensitive items.
- Ensure safety and security procedures are followed at all times.
- Prepare outbound courier shipments using computer or service providers.
- Deliver and pick up Mail.
- Assist customers when requested.
- Operate Postage machine to process mail.
- Control inbound and outbound accountables.
- Weighs packages and determines postage.
- Prepare items for processing, shipment or transportation.
- Ensure the highest levels of customer care.
- May be exposed to weather when going between buildings and/or locations
- Maintain vehicle with periodic service, washing, interior cleaning, etc
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma of equivalent preferred.
- A valid driver's license
- Minimum 1 year customer service and office related experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year demonstrated company driver experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year demonstrated mail/shipping and receiving experience preferred.
- 1-2 years with Microsoft Software.
- Handle multiple projects at one time.
- Basic Mathematical skills.
- Ability to effectively work individually and in team environment.
- Ability to meet employer's attendance policy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to function as a team player in a fast paced environment
