Solon Manufacturing Company, located in Chardon Ohio, is a premier designer and manufacturer of Belleville spring washers and industrial pressure switches seeking a Transportation Specialist to transport product between inner-company plants and to local vendors for drop-offs and pick-ups.

• Delivery Duties - Vendor: Follow all safety procedures and Ohio traffic laws; ensure Solon truck is maintained appropriately, and maintenance records kept; load and unload truck using company forklifts or manual means; cover and secure load to truck to ensure safe arrival of product; arrange product on truck based on order of delivery; maintain Solon's paperwork as required to pick up paperwork from vendors and deliver to appropriate recipients; coordinates outsource material processing requirements with purchasing department; determine optimal delivery route; verify correct material is being transported (both part number and count/weight); verify packing slip against material at both Solon and vendor; verify correct material is being received (both part number and count/weight)

• Delivery Duties – Inner-Company: Determine material to be transported based on dispatch report and/or by supervisor; gather material to be transported; verify correct material being transported (both part number and count/weight); record information on work order/router and ensure all paperwork is with material; load/unload truck as required, keeping material dry and secure; deliver material to proper staging area based on next router step; complete the router paperwork (both in the computer and on paper); provide report of items to appropriate personnel

Experiences, Competencies, Skills and Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Minimum one-year relevant experience in warehouse / manufacturing environment
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License – Class C
• Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check required
• Neat and clean appearance
• Punctual and reliable
• Effective communication skills
• Good sense of direction and ability to use GPS and local road maps
• Forklift experience required
• Proficient on computer. Knowledge of MRP/MRP a plus

Work Environment: Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Low to moderate noise levels. Works near moving mechanical parts.

The employee is frequently required to walk; bend, lift, twist and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
