ELM Utility Services, with over 1000 employees nationwide, has an outstanding opportunity as a Trainer in Reno, Nevada and surrounding areas. The primary role is to train new field technicians. This position could be performed out of the Reno offices with travel throughout Nevada for training. This person will have daily contact with Managers, Supervisor and Field Technicians, and will utilize the Star training program to train new Field Technicians. Job duties will be performed with the assistance and/or coordination of the local Supervisors and Area Managers. Professional communication with all management and customers is essential and vital to the trainer position. Office hours and schedule may vary.

Your specific duties in this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Utility auditing will be performed when training is not in session.
- Integrate retraining needs into the training program.
- Conduct ride-alongs to qualify technicians
- When auditing, some time is spent in the field environment with some administrative work required, and this person will be exposed to all field hazards.
- Occasional lifting materials up to 50 pounds is required.
Specific qualifications for the position include:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, and random drug screens
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in the utility industry and 1 year of underground locating experience.
- Qualified applicants must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Applicants must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite / Word and Excel experience is a plus
- Previous training experience is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
