Job description

Performs all duties as described for Driver I & II plus duties described below:

o Safely picks up (tows in) and delivers (tows out) salvage vehicles to / from the insurance clients' locations, CAT centers, body shops, dealerships, residences.

o Conducts vehicle loading on to car carriers (semi-tractor trailer, roll back truck and/or tow truck); securing them in place.

o Reviews assignments for location of tow in / tow out and verifies the company's truck is ready for safe operation.

o Verifies salvage vehicle information, including make / model, color and VIN.

o Reviews contents of salvage vehicle and checks for missing parts (e.g., radio, keys, air bags, headlights, battery). o Loads and unloads vehicles from the transport trucks (via forks, winch, chains, blocks, etc.).

o Ensures the vehicle is properly secured for transport (via chains, straps and other means to prevent loose parts from falling off or causing additional damage).

o Maintains appearance of the truck at all times - inside and out

Qualifications

Minimum

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

1 - 3 years of experience driving a service/tow truck or rollback truck required.

Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to walk long distances.

Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.

Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.

Ability to lift 1-30 pounds.

Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical shock hazard.
