POSITION: THEATER AND EVENTS MANAGER
DISTRICT POSITION/HOLT HIGH SCHOOL

Holt Public Schools is located in the Lansing metropolitan region. It is primarily located in Ingham County with portions in Eaton County. We provide educational programs from Early Childhood through and beyond 12th grade including access to Early College programming and Career and Technical Education. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Theater and Events Manager position is an administrative position directly responsible for the overall leadership and development of the Theater and Events program districtwide. The Theater and Events Director is responsible for administering all aspects of the theater and event programs including but not limited to budgets, theater maintenance (lighting and sound), supporting teaching and administrative staff when using the auditorium, event scheduling and supervision. The position will connect and schedule community events. Responsible for providing assistance to the Principals (all buildings) for meetings, sound systems, outside events and other events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Theater and Event Director experience
  • Auditorium sound and lighting experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to bring community events into Holt Public Schools
  • Demonstration of strong organizational and communication skills
  • Minimum five (5) years of theater and events experience, preferably at the high school level

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and run theater sound system (microphones, cables, speakers, amplifiers)
  • Maintain and run theater lighting system (Dimmer system, light console, all lighting fixtures)
  • Maintain theater counterweight rigging system
  • Ability to have flexible hours to work evening events
  • May work with students on theater systems (sound and lighting)
  • Responsible for maintaining the theater and event website and social media accounts
  • Maintain event scheduling software
  • Maintain and supervise the scene shop
  • Set up sound system for events not in the auditoriums throughout the District (gyms, grounds, hallways)
  • Work with community, State, non-profit and private organizations to use the auditoriums as a venue for non-school events
  • Supervise event and venue billing
  • Performs all duties assigned by the Building Principal or other District official, as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve Month Position

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provision of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel by the Executive
