Collins Aerospace is looking for a technician, for the Test Support Engineering team to maintenance, upgrade, and repair test equipment. Test Support Engineering ensures that the facilities and machinery perform efficiently and accurately to support business functions and avoid operational delays.

  • The work associated with this position will be performed onsite.
  • Must wear static-control and personal protective equipment.
  • In your role, you will be exposed to:
    • Products of various weights and sizes.
    • Equipment with moving parts.
    • High potential (voltage/current).
    • Chemicals that may emit fumes.
  • Due to the nature of our work, you will need to be able to perform the following functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
    • Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements.
    • Bending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.
    • Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g., grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation).
    • Sitting or standing at a workbench/test stand for extended periods of time.
    • Lifting to 10 pounds unassisted.
    • Transporting product with or without product carts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on manual and automated test equipment systems.
  • Repair test equipment
  • Installation and checkout of new test equipment
  • Inventory management
  • Troubleshoot test equipment failures
  • Implement engineering changes, modify, or upgrade test equipment
  • Modify or upgrade existing test equipment
  • Communicate work status to team members and support staff (e.g., shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)


Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components
  • Experience with MS office software applications
