St. Luke Lutheran Community is searching for a TEMPORARY GROUNDS/MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT for our North Canton Location. Expected dates of employment will be now through September 30th with the possibility of being extended OR becoming permanent.

Hours/Schedule:

FULL-TIME

Monday-Friday 8:30AM 5:00PM

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain the grounds and areas surrounding the facility and perform other maintenance duties:

1. Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways: mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, sweeping, and shoveling

2. Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair of facility grounds equipment / make routine inspections

3. Remove dirt, dust, grease, etc from surfaces using appropriate cleaning/disinfecting solutions

4. Keep supervisor informed of supply needs

5. Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, and other objects as requested

6. Assist the maintenance team with various projects as they occur. This can include painting and general maintenance

7. Practice established infection control methods, safety precautions, and universal precautions when performing duties

8. Report all hazardous conditions/equipment/safety violations to supervisor

9. Assure work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, and related items are properly stored

10. Dispose of refuse daily and discard infectious waste

Education/Experience Required:

• Must posess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and electric preferred but not necessary
• Previous equivalent experience preferred but not required

St Luke Lutheran Community requires a pre-employment physical and drug screen (which includes testing for Marijuana/THC *Medical Marijuana cards NOT accepted), and well as a pre-employment fingerprinting background check through the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).

Experience:

• Landscape maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
