Job description

The purpose of the Technology Risk Manager is to enable and empower Members 1st's Information Security posture by providing clear visibility into the technical systems, processes, and data in the organization, the risks to those resources, and the scope, appropriateness, and effectiveness of the controls mitigating them. The position accomplishes this by managing and directing the team responsible for creating and maintaining the inventory of all technical systems and approved software, mapping out associated risks and dependencies, understanding and assuring the place of these systems in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing the effectiveness of commensurate controls, verifying adherence to policies, and evaluating all new projects and initiatives for these criteria. In so doing, the Technology Risk Manager will exercise considerable latitude in defining the Technology Risk program and adapting it for future needs. This position requires a significant degree of creativity and problem-solving.

While the Technology Risk Manager does not directly manage departmental budgets, this role operates with very limited supervision of work and considerable latitude to set the overall objectives of the program, including recommending new purchases and projects relevant to achieving those goals. This position currently manages one IT Risk Analyst. Key responsibilities of the role include conducting Technical Risk Analysis and Audits, participating in a key role in business continuity and disaster recovery exercises and practices, evaluating and documenting the maturity and effectiveness of security controls, assessing, interviewing and selecting candidates for the team, deconstructing and delegating tasks, managing and monitoring the performance of team members, and leading by example. This role collaborates extensively with other departments to develop a nuanced understanding of systems and processes, assisting in documenting the technical components, and working with auditors and regulators during reviews. The Technology Risk Manager takes steps to remain informed of all relevant regulatory requirements and policy frameworks, updating internal policies accordingly.

This is a hybrid opportunity that will require you to be in office at our headquarters (Enola, PA) 2-3 days per week. The position may require in-person training.
