Job description

Supports the Manager Dewatering Plant Portsite by monitoring, reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing assigned machinery and equipment repair and maintenance in the Dewatering Plant (DWP). To be a “hands on” leader, teacher, and mentor to the maintenance staff at the DWP. Provides technical expertise, guidance and advice to management to resolve complex site maintenance and decommissioning issues at the DWP.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Promote safety and environmental awareness for him/herself, DWP & Pipeline Maintenance Planning section, Dewatering Plant Portsite group, and also among the DWP Ops & Pipeline Maintenance Division employees in order to ensure compliances with the company safety and environmental procedures and programs.

2. Support the implementation of company's safety and environmental policies and procedures in order to ensure all works are performed in a safe manner and environmentally conscious.

3. Acts as technical expert in general areas of past and present operations and maintenance at the DWP, provides technical expertise to resolve site maintenance issues, and have broad background, knowledge, and understanding of site processes and associated equipment.

4. Provide technical instruction and support to national staff & non staff for to ensure all work complies with international standards, is completed in a safe manner, within budget, and on schedule.

5. Work with Manager to develop KPI’s for Maintenance Section to achieve the targets on equipment availability.

6. Ensure all jobs being executed refer to the created MO that was released by Maintenance Team and is accomplished without delay and that the daily job detail communication with the planning team is conducted daily.

7. Work closely with Equipment Condition Management Team/Maintenance Engineering Team to develop work systems to include protocols, formats, and SOP’s to accomplish MO to accomplish maintenance best practice and provide engineered solutions for maintenance team with the end goal of Safety, Job Quality, and Productivity.

8. Mentor and share knowledge with the crews to develop strategies and systems for each work task that needs to be verified in reference to OEM standards that need documentation through close MO for each shift.

9. Develop data analysis to include check lists for PMs and running inspections for frequency and follow up during PMs to assess equipment condition and adjust PM frequency in accordance to OEM standards.

10. Evaluate preventive maintenance activities to ensure the preventive maintenance is implemented in all areas according to the schedule, to minimize and/or prevent unscheduled downtime.

11. Evaluate weekly and monthly maintenance planning performance reports and provide the recommendation for the improvement.

12. Plan and monitor stock usage through the warehouse system to ensure maximum utilization and availability of parts.

13. Support special project progress in order to ensure the achievement of projects’ objectives according to company’s policies and procedures.

14. Spend time in the field providing review of job preparation, execution, and follow up. Ensure that pre-job and post-job requirements are consistently accomplished to PTFI standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related discipline and five (5) years of experience -OR- High School/Technical School/Trade School and ten (10) years of experience in an industrial environment preferably in mining and mineral processing industries, including supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
  • Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of principles of fixed plant maintenance.
  • In depth experience with Machines and Equipment.
  • In depth experience with Methods and Techniques.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Working knowledge of principles of planning, scheduling and coordination.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Highly proactive and achievement oriented.
  • Highly focused toward satisfying customer requirements.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
