The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective administration, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure infrastructure systems and applications' availability, capacity, and performance. This includes cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

This role requires a self-starter who consistently demonstrates initiative and drive. The Systems Administrator must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks and projects effectively.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain current cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy, configure and monitor new hosted applications.
  • Provide support for customer issues related hosted application configurations.
  • Configure and maintain database replication tasks.
  • Troubleshoot application and network issues.
  • Configure and manage other cloud services, such as Salesforce, Slack, Jira and more
  • Configure and manage our website deployment in WordPress and Siteground
  • Assist in management of our Salesforce instances
  • Maintain back office systems such as MS Exchange
  • Effectively track status and time in ticketing system.
  • Provide support for systems and network issues including performance, outages and security incidents.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Communicate with supervisor and stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress, upcoming changes or agreed outages.
  • Provide help desk support employees including remotely located staff and those traveling (software/hardware/connectivity).
  • Act as a direct interface with IT related vendors and service providers.
  • Configure and maintain internal and external monitoring services.
  • Ensure uptime of all IT systems, respond to alerts from monitoring services.
  • Remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Management of IT services in a cloud environment.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) administration including IAM, EC2, S3, EFS, RDS, ElastiCache, Cloudwatch, KMS, Pinpoint, SNS, etc.
  • Container experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Singularity) is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages including some of the following: Shell scripting (bash,ksh,etc), Perl, Python, Java.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software problems.
  • Network terminology and operations (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, routing).
  • Understanding of backup policies and best practices.
  • Experience with antivirus software deployment and administration.
  • Apple desktop support, (iPhone, OSx and laptop hardware).
  • Office 365 (Exchange administration and applications).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT sector managing cloud-based services (preferably startup environment)
  • AWS certification(s) is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
