Summary/Objective

The System Administrator will install, monitor, manage and maintain company network equipment, maintain connections between computer software (local and cloud-based) and hardware systems, servers, storage devices, phones, backup solutions, install and configure network hardware and software, and provide network support to solve daily technical problems. This position will provide support for the planning and implementation of IT-related policies and procedures which align with Bigfoots company goals, employ industry best practices, and follow regulatory requirements. Works closely and has exceptional communication with the IT Manager, Network Administrator, managers, employees, and external IT vendors.


Essential Functions

  • Deploy, configure, and assist in the installation of all computer network systems at all Bigfoot locations with a thorough understanding of networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking.

  • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and migrations with attention to minimizing impact on users.

  • Develop implementation plans and provide hands-on support throughout the process.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and make recommendations to the IT Manager for solutions.

  • Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure by following industry best practices on deployment of technology and using regulator requirements as a guide.

  • Upgrade all systems to meet current and future company needs and align with company goals.

  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, and ensuring system components work together.

  • Monitor the Helpdesk trouble ticket tracking system and provide support to issues as needed.

  • Backup all system configuration files and test for data integrity to ensure proper recovery.

  • Maintain connectivity with all cloud-based applications to include but not limited to Azure, O365, Verizon, Apple, Meraki, Verkada, and Mitel, etc.

  • Assist users in VIP trouble tickets along with creating efficiencies within the VIP system.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all hardware and software issues.

  • Inventory and asset management for all software and devices.

  • Document all processes creating a standard operating procedure (SOP).

  • Deploy and maintain the WIFI network in partnership with the Network Administrator.

  • Create an environment of redundancies for failover to Bend locations in the event of network or power loss in Eugene.

  • Observe company safety guidelines and practices in every phase of work. Report all hazardous conditions, safety concerns, injuries, incidents, or property damage to your manager.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment, with occasional warehouse exposure, occasionally travels to other company locations (Bend, Roseburg, Coos Bay and Newport) and for industry conferences or professional training. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets and fax machine.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; bend, use hands; and sit. The employee is rarely required to push; pull; move; carry; lift; climb and balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 35lbs occasionally. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. The regular shift start time is 7:00 am 4:00 pm with additional hours and weekend work as necessary. This is a non-exempt level position.


Travel

Occasional travel to other company locations (Bend, Roseburg, Coos Bay and Newport) and industry conferences and professional training.


Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in computer science, information systems or related field; or High School Diploma or GED with equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in an IT related field handling routers, switches, help desk and network peripherals.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
  • Additional certifications such as CCNA, Network+, and CompTIA.

Employee must meet company standards for driving a company vehicle, pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
