Job Description


Servings as the overall client lead, the SVP will direct planning and strategy for a large retail and luxury brand. Comprehensive media knowledge, thought-leadership, and strategic marketing expertise will be essential to the continuous advancement of our client’s business. Demonstrating an intimate understanding of how audiences interact with channels and technology, this pivotal role demands a focus on how to most effectively solve clients' business challenges through an orchestrated system of paid, owned, and earned touchpoints.

This is a unique role on a fast-paced, nimble team. You will be working side by side with our global and local client team on market leading brands across US markets. You have the opportunity to cultivate a strong team culture and bring together a large, cross functional team together to collaborate and drive innovation. The right candidate will lead with credibility & confidence within a matrixed team, build strong client relationships with senior and junior team members, understanding what needs to be true for best in class delivery of end to end IMCs.

This role is ideal for an organized, flexible and solution-focused leader with a balance of strategy and investment experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the media planning process, establish strategic vision and oversee Investment approaches on key initiatives that will drive business performance.
  • Manage a portfolio of brands with different objectives in the same category to drive individual outcomes as well as best practices and solutions at scale across categories and teams
  • Establish a learning agenda with client and internal stakeholders across Precision and analytics
  • Partner with client team on campaign/business brief to ensure it is crafted through a lens that delivers the necessary information agency team needs for successful execution
  • Collaborate with Global Client Lead to ensure best practices across markets and case study development
  • Work with Directors of Planning, Investment to establish and optimize ways of working and processes
  • Lead presentation/discussion with the client around strategic idea, sharing recommended direction and rationale as to why this is the right approach; evaluating what has worked, not worked and applying learning to future campaign development
  • Translate into actionable deliverables to impact annual planning cycles via audience insights, consumer journeys, and communications frameworks
  • Manage and work alongside Directors on Planning and Investment to co-manage and mentor a team with varying levels of experience
  • Partner with EVP to manage account P&L, drive innovation and merchandise best-in-class work internally and externally

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in advertising, marketing, business, psychology, or similar area
  • 12+ years of experience including extensive client and team management experience
  • NY-based role for in-person client collaboration and management of an on-site and remote blended team
  • Well rounded media background (national, local, digital, social, programmatic, search, etc) - Deep Digital and Local planning experience preferred
  • Category experience in Retail and/or Luxury brands
  • Must be agile and flexible in core ways of working – the ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and direct team and strategies accordingly
  • Ability to provide thought leadership and expertise to clients while providing guidance to on the ground teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership ability to drive team to deliver results
