Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced executive communications professional to join our team. The right person will bring strategic thinking, communications
expertise, intellectual curiosity, energy and creativity to help our Vice President of Impact, who leads the Autodesk Foundation and Autodesk’s sustainability
efforts, find and authentically tell stories about Autodesk to customers, external influencers and employees through compelling speeches, presentations,
meetings and written communications. Our ideal candidate should have
experience working in sustainability, philanthropy or for a global technology company.
Responsibilities
  • Think strategically to develop and execute an annual executive communications plan for our VP of Impact in collaboration with other teams including employee communications, public relations, and social media, all to facilitate furthering awareness of and engagement with the Autodesk brand
  • Develop an internal communications strategy and create content to help inform and engage the Impact team, and drive the message of the organization across the company
  • Work directly with our VP of Impact, their chief of staff and key subject matter experts to develop the narrative arcs for and create presentations and talks to be given to and to facilitate engagement with customers, shareholders, board of directors, employees, and influencers
  • Develop ways to reuse this content by other leaders within Impact team and in other parts of the company
  • Create content around internal Impact initiatives and programs that can be used by senior leaders across the company to communicate to their divisions
  • Deeply embed in the organization and participate in meetings as requested with VP of Impact and team leadership, helping shape strategy, providing a point of view on what and how should be communicated, and debating that POV with direct staff
  • Support the VP of Impact’s social media program by creating or editing social media posts; suggesting shares and existing content related to Autodesk’s business; and proposing new ways to engage on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and other platforms
  • Work across the executive communications team, employee communications, the Impact group, and with partners across the company on communications projects as needed in the best interests of the company and its employees
  • Support teammates on high-priority communications projects as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
  • Creative thinking, and the ability to brainstorm new communications strategies and approaches with the VP of Impact
  • Understanding of Autodesk’s business, experience with cloud software companies, or familiarity with the industries Autodesk serves
  • A focus on and passion for sustainability and philanthropy and how companies can create a better world
  • Excellent writer, with the skills to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications, and able to write with speed and accuracy
  • Strategic and creative thinker comfortable debating and defending their ideas
  • Strong storyteller with the ability to create compelling narratives in support of our business strategies
  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies, plans, programs and events
  • Strong presence and confidence which will help build high credibility with senior executives
  • Ability to influence without authority, across functions, geographies and levels, and the ability to work with various departments and teams to drive alignment and collaboration
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, work under deadlines, and ensure quality and accuracy
  • Focused and performance-driven
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • 8+ years of experience in executive communications, public relations, and/or employee communications
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and/or Keynote skills; knowledge of Photoshop, HTML and SharePoint a plus
  • Four-year college degree (BS or BA), preferably in English, communications or journalism; or equivalent work experience and excellent writing and communications skills
  • Occasional travel required

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,800 and $179,190. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
