Job description

The New Jersey Eye Surgical Center is seeking a per-diem/part- time surgical technician to work on our OR days Tuesdays and Thursdays and infrequent Wednesdays. Prefer experience with J&J lenses and phaco machine. Majority of cases are cataract extractions with IOL placement. Other eye procedures also performed.

Duties (include but may not be limited to:)

- Assist the surgeon by providing and controlling the sterile instruments, supplies and equipment required during surgical intervention. Ability to load cataract lenses

-- Set up and break down of table, instruments and supplies according to the type of operation

- Assist in application of dressing and moving patients as directed.

- Compile and make available all necessary supplies as needed for procedures

- Assist in inventory, storage, retrieval of supplies and equipment

- Prepare surgical trays, instruments, and equipment.

Qualifications:

- Must have completed High School or Equivalent

- Graduation from a surgical technician training program, have at least (1) year of on-the- job experience and must hold certification.

- Current Certification in basic CPR

- Ability to work well with Physicians, Nurse, Staff and Patients.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
