Position – Support Staff

This position serves in a residential treatment center for adults with mental health and substance use disorders. The position works closely with the therapist and medical teams to ensure clients have a safe, empathetic, and trauma-informed environment that fosters healing and long-term change.

The following job description is not inclusive of all job responsibilities:

• Conduct client intakes
• Complete scheduled rounds and document client location/activity/mood.
• Facilitate recreational/non-clinical groups (daytime only)
• Transport clients off site in a 15-passenger van (no CDL required, typically daytime only), over 21 years required for our driving insurance.
• Supervise and participate in off-site recreational activities
• Supervise and follow the protocol for client medication self-administration
• Light housekeeping (laundry, replacing living staples, general upkeep and cleaning)
• Writing detailed documentation (Shift Reports, Group Notes, Incident Reports)
• Use online-based client medical records systems
• Complete Verbal “Hand-offs” from shift to shift
• Managing emergency situations, de-escalating clients
• Escalate situations to clinical and medical providers as necessary
• Conduct room searches, bag searches, and safety inspections
• Sign and abide by the Code of Conduct provided by the Department of Human Services

Qualifications:

• High school diploma / GED
• Psych Tech or Behavioral Health Tech certification/training preferred
• Must be 21 years old or older
• Active/valid driver’s license without DUI’s or serious moving violations within last 3 years
• Must be able to pass a federal background check through the Department of Human Services (Violent/Sexual/Predatory charges and/or convictions will result in denial of background check)
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Empathy and the ability to work with people in distress
• Preferred: experience working in psych or behavioral health units

Salary: $16-$17 per hour

**Friday-Sunday 8pm-8am*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
