Overview:
TITLE: SUPPORT SERVICES MANAGER
LOCATION: ARVIN, CA
COMPENSATION: $100,000 - $140,000 / YEAR

PURPOSE:

Management and operational accountability of Construction’s Support Services Department. Responsible for personnel and day to day operations of the Support Shop, Facility Fleet Assets, and Fleet & Support Services departments. Directs, manages, and maintains corporate fleet assets and personnel to ensure a safe, efficient, and cost-competitive corporate fleet operation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Support Services Manager is responsible for managing the company’s fleet maintenance and repair programs (local and mobile servicing), support shop and fleet services, and related store room/inventory control to ensure the proper and safe operation of vehicles, machinery, and equipment assigned to the department. Responsibilities include:
  • Budgeting, procurement, operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, safety, training, parts inventory control, rental equipment sourcing, related cost analysis, accounting, and reporting.
  • Work with department supervisors to set goals and performance standards to ensure activities are directed toward continuous improvement standards.
  • Manage and oversee all outside rental activities companywide.
  • Provide division/department rental cost tracking, reporting, invoicing, and delivery/pick-up coordination.
  • DOT/CARB/NCCCO collaboration with regulatory and safety departments for fleet, on-road truck rules, crane operation, and crane operators’ compliance certifications.
  • Responsible for personnel training, safety, and development programs.
  • Oversees department’s Infor (EAM) asset management system for scheduling, work order and purchase order implementation.
  • Reviews department’s budget, financial reports, cost analysis for fleet (by division), and financial forecasting, as requested.
  • Top-level communication with facility GMs regarding their fleet asset programs, costs, and recommendations.
  • Provide asset management and various supporting services to all company operational facilities, targeted farm and ranch field equipment, daily fueling/lubing/inspection services, dust control activities, equipment and machinery transportation, crane operations, and other skilled support activities, as requested.
  • Other duties, as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to move about inside the office and support shop. Ability to operate a computer and other equipment. Must be able to work in different temperatures. Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum ten (10) years of proven management experience and a working knowledge of Construction, Industrial, Earth Moving, Farm, and On-Road Fleet Equipment.
  • Knowledge and expertise of specific skills needed to complete various types of service mechanic and technical tasks.
  • Familiar and comfortable with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Familiar with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in Infor Equipment Asset Management or similar asset management software platforms required.
  • Must be organized and demonstrate an ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • Possess a congenial attitude with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skill-set that engages with our customer needs and provides solution-based strategies.
  • Ability to foster and promote teamwork across entire department.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Well-developed computer literacy with MS Office Suite.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally both local and out of the area depending on business need.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
