UnspecifiedCollins Central Logistics Team is comprised of the Supply Chain Logistics and Operations Logistics groups. This role acts as the Supply Chain Point of Contact (POC) for all sites regarding Collins transportation and logistics matters including both commercial and tactical.
This individual can work at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.
Primary Responsibilities:
COMMERCIAL
Align with RTX Corporate on the Logistics Strategy and execute at the Collins Aerospace level
Drive Contract Coverage – Work with the Lead Logistics Partner (LLP) to ensure Master Transportation Agreements (MTAs) are in place
Work with LLP to Plan, Procure, and Execute the RFP cadence for carrier sourcing events.
Leverage and aggregate spend among preferred logistics suppliers
Generate Collins-level Commodity Strategies for Less-than-Truckload, Full Truckload, Small Parcel, Heavy-Air, and Ocean
Negotiates price actions with Logistics partners in supplement to the RTX-level agreements
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with preferred partners
Establishes Maturity Scorecards for the preferred partners
Manages Annual Survey (MFA) for preferred carriers
Establishes a Data Governance plan that is aligned with the TMS Control Tower, FBAP Partners, and Carrier data to ensure Freight Spend Visibility
Drives the organization to achieve Synergy and SmartChoice Logistics savings targets
Assesses Freight Spend to distill opportunities for service improvements and cost reductions using data aggregation and visualization via Tableau
Supports business unit logistics site reviews
RISK MANAGEMENT
Aggregates information from logistics industry webinars, articles, tools, etc on global risk events that may impact Collins’ logistics network
Works with logistics supply base and internal stakeholders/colleagues to plan and execute risk mitigation actions
Presents risk events and mitigation plans to Senior Supply Chain Leadership Team on a monthly cadence
Works chronic or acute Transportation issues as escalated to the Central Team by the Carriers or the SBU/Site Logistics Leads
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Supports various projects that result in Synergy Savings, Smart Shipping Savings, and Service improvements including but not limited to: TMS, Network Redesign, LLP Expansion
Works with Logistics Operations and SBU Logistics focals to create KPIs and drive transitions to awarded logistics partners
Manages Central Logistics cost savings projects in PowerSteering and updates cost savings models for monthly financial reporting
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international)
Experience with Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Macros, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification with Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and/or Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS)
Experience in the Aerospace Industry
Experience with Tableau
Background in data analytics
