Reporting to the Global Operations Director – Liquid Cooled Applications (LCA) – Performance Technologies, the Global Procurement Director - LCA will be responsible for developing sourcing and procurement strategies and activities that support the objectives of the business vertical. The incumbent will directly oversee the LCA procurement team responsible for ~$250M of raw material, commodity and indirect spend; while also providing the strategic sourcing tools and guidance in support of the decentralized spend. The Director will oversee the Supplier Quality Assurance group, which is instrumental in the selection of new suppliers as well as driving improvement of existing supply base. We will provide relocation assistance for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define and implement comprehensive strategies for Liquid Cooled Applications ( LCA ) procurement processes to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality, shorten lead-times and reduce inventories.
  • Responsible for cost productivity strategies directly related to direct material acquisition across all factories in the LCA global footprint to deliver aggressive annual cost reduction targets.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine the best strategy for sourcing and procurement of materials based on present and future material availability as well as supplier performance, and total landed cost.
  • Develop standard sourcing processes and tools for evaluation, negotiation, and selection of suppliers.
  • Ensures the obtainment of pricing, commercial terms and inventory management strategy process that position Modine for long term success.
  • Implement best practices in procurement, supplier, and logistics management to support commercial and operational objectives.
  • Develop low-cost country sourcing strategies across the regions in which our businesses operate, including:
    • An Asia-Pacific sourcing strategy that reduces tariff exposure, geo-political risk and general supply chain / logistics instability;
    • Establishing a Mexico supply strategy for NA in key spend categories;
    • Eastern European sourcing strategy
  • Provide exceptional servant leadership to the Procurement team that creates a culture of trust and collaboration toward common goals.
  • Demonstrates and sets the expectations for talent selection and development, performance management and recognition to drive high levels of performance, engagement and retention.
  • Provide procurement & logistics core competency and leadership support, as needed, to the centralized and regionally-decentralized supply chain teams.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Commercial/Regional teams to support sourcing initiatives that ensure products are on time, in budget, and according to engineering specifications.
  • Develop procurement effectiveness metrics and supplier scorecards to evaluate, motivate and manage our supply base to continually improve performance.
  • Maintain general and specific knowledge of commodity markets for awareness of current prices and market rates. Must have keen understanding of metals markets and ability to provide forecasting guidance to global procurement team.
  • Develops the strategic financial planning and analytical forecasting for both the domestic and global markets.
  • Communicates and enforces company policies and country regulations regarding supplier and team compliance as driven through the Modine’s Code of Ethics.
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective sourcing strategy.
  • Coordinates with Performance Technologies VP of Supply Chain on the development and implementation of strategies for sourcing of global raw materials
  • Sets policies and standards that drives execution against the supplier diversity, dual sourcing and cost savings targets while meeting Modine’s quality and delivery requirements.
  • Drives improvement in cashflow through improvements in capital efficiency, payment terms and inventory management.
  • Reports directly to the Global Operations Director – LCA and is responsible for direct reports globally.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of experience managing global procurement/logistics functions including experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • At least 5+ years of experience working in a global manufacturing environment supporting at least $100 million in revenue.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of compliance with regulatory agencies impacting network materials management activities, and preparation of reports concerning status of activities/concerns in areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates high integrity, both in business and personally, and viewed as trustworthy by all members of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels within Modine.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, develop and teach through others.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills and ability to work multi-dimensionally in a complex business environment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • BS/BA degree from accredited college / university in Supply Chain, Business Administration, engineering or related majors; MBA or MA/MS in related field preferred.
TRAVEL
  • Up to 30% Travel (including global travel) required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / DEMOSTRATED COMPETENCIES
  • Extensive knowledge of procedures and regulations relating to the procurement, storage, receiving and distribution of supplies/equipment in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expert in negotiations, and having the ability to train others in this area.
  • Experience in successfully leading and managing teams dispersed globally.
  • Proven ability to translate corporate strategy and external market forces into multi-year, fact based, and data driven sourcing strategies and tactical plans, and the execution of these strategies and plans.

  • Estimated Base Salary Range - $170,000.00 - $255,000.00

The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and location. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
