Responsibilities:
The Supervisor of Rehabilitation Services, Acute and Outpatient Speech Pathology has the primary responsibility for coordinating the daily activities of operations for the Atlanta (Acute Care, 993D, Meridian Mark, Tower, and AHNA) and Alpharetta locations including: staff & student orientation, training, competency checks, scheduling, medical record review, productivity tracking, and time and attendance. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: acts as liaison between assigned departments, patient care units, and other medical personnel, assists leadership with performance improvement activities. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service. This is a 40-hour a week non-exempt position, typical hours are 8:00a.m.–4:30p.m., but hours may vary based on departmental needs. Weekend and holiday rotation is required.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited school in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Licensed by the appropriate Georgia State Board.
  • ASHA, CCC for SLP required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in licensed discipline, with at least one (1) year experience in a hospital environment.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate tactfully.
  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively coordinate and direct activities, procedures and personnel.
  • Knowledgeable in rehab regulations, billing, and reimbursement, and CMS guidelines (example, G-Codes).
  • Must be certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups.
PREFERRED:
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with MBS and FEES Service Lines
  • Proficiency with Videostroboscopy and Head and Neck Service Lines
