Discover Impactful Work:

The Distribution Supervisor role operates from established and well-known procedures under general directions and minimum supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating procedures and guidelines. The Distribution Supervisor encounters recurring work situations of high complexity and has the authority to control the operation and when vital, the facility, and must do so in a safe manner resulting in no accidents, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements always. The Distribution Supervisor must effectively communicate information to supervision and fellow personnel, relative to the condition of the facility equipment and personnel performance and provide suggestions for problem prevention / resolution.

A day in the Life:

  • Responsible for supervising the operations of the designated Distribution work stream on a shift basis, including:
  • Prioritizes, plans, organizes, leads, and controls the activities of the team and shift, and other-related personnel to ensure schedules and performance objectives are met.
  • Ensures that personnel issues or conditions are accurately looked after during the shift, including but not limited to, safety and medical emergencies, personnel issues, regulatory agency interaction, and technical (process) issues.
  • Update the appropriate Distribution Management to take appropriate corrective action.
  • Coordinate the activities in distribution area(s) to meet distribution goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Be responsible for the execution of special projects, maintain employee timecards, complete employee performance evaluations (PMD).
  • Mentor & help train new Distribution employees. Work efficiently with operations.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma is the minimum education requirement. A Bachelors Degree is preferred.

Experience

  • Leadership experience: management of team
  • Leadership experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in a distribution environment
  • 1+ years’ experience developing a team in a professional work environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Problem solving skills/Root Cause Analysis experience
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • General knowledge of computer systems
  • Experience working in cGMP environment
  • Organization Skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills/Root Cause Analysis experience
  • Confirmed understanding of warehouse operations
  • Ability to identify risks/hazards related to quality and safety
  • Capable of working with area supervisors and managers and other operations resources to address employee and process issues

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Work in a fast-paced environment up to 8 to 12 hrs. hours a day
  • Specific personal protective equipment may be required in some areas.
  • Able to stand and move about including reaching, bending, stooping, and frequently lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds unassisted.
